Clay Graphite Crucible

Clay Graphite Crucible

Clay Graphite Crucible

Our clay graphite crucibles use high-quality raw materials, including flake graphite, silicon carbide and refractory clay. These raw materials are crushed, screened, kneaded, molded, and finally sintered. These crucibles have better structural stability and resistance to high temperature, thermal shock and corrosion. They are resistant to oxidation and can be used in open electric furnaces. In addition, the price of clay graphite crucibles is relatively cheap, lower than that of artificial graphite crucibles.

Clay Graphite Crucible Manufacturer

Clay graphite crucible exhibits outstanding performance under high-temperature conditions, having a very high melting point and being made from high-quality materials. Compared with the traditional clay crucibles, their dense structure expands service life 3 to 5 times, assures perfect thermal conductivity, reduces energy consumption, and minimizes the sticking of slags. The result is efficient and pollution-free heat transfer.

The clay boned graphite crucibles bear corrosion, oxidation, and thermal shock. Advanced treatment processes make them more durable and with increased conductivity. The design is simple and eco-friendly. That makes better economy and efficiency, hence perfect for industrial production.

Applications of Clay Graphite Crucible

Smelting of various metals uses crucibles made of clay boned graphite worldwide. They are highly suitable for nonferrous metals like alloy copper, red copper, and brass. In the same light, they can smelt zinc, aluminum, lead, tin, gold, and silver effectively. These uses have been able to fulfill the requirements in casting, processing, and laboratories.

How to Make a Clay Graphite Crucible?

The production process involves a series of processes such as raw material selection, mixing, molding, firing and surface treatment.

Crucible ingredients

First, we prepare raw materials such as flake graphite, clay, silica, wax stone, etc. The first step is to crush the raw materials into a certain particle size and mix all the raw materials evenly according to the recipe.

Due to the different metals and usage conditions of the crucible, the ratio of various raw materials in production is different. Among the composition of clay graphite crucible, graphite accounts for the largest proportion.

Taking smelting of high-carbon steel as an example, the recipe of clay graphite crucible is as follows: flake graphite 50-55%, refractory clay: 38-40%, other aggregates: 5-15%.

Molding

We use the compression molding method to mold the crucible with a steel mold as a mold. Then, the dried semi-finished product is dried.

Firing

To be precise, we first glaze the crucible and then fire it after the glaze layer is dried. These crucibles are fired in a kiln at 700-900 degrees Celsius. The purpose of firing is to enhance the density and mechanical strength of the crucible.

This process achieves a compact structure in the crucible material. In this way, the ceramic material will have good thermal conductivity, heat resistance and chemical corrosion resistance.

Inspection

Final quality inspection ensures compliance with required melting and casting standards.

Why Choose Our Crucible?

Our clay graphite crucibles are durable, ensure excellent thermal performance, and are ideal for melting copper, brass, aluminum, and precious metals. In addition, the longer service life greatly reduces fuel consumption and saves costs. Finally, it is available in customized size and design to meet various application requirements effectively.
