Carbon Electrode Paste

Carbon Electrode Paste

Carbon Electrode Paste

Carbon electrode paste is a carbonaceous paste-like raw material made by mixing calcined anthracite, coke powder, and coal asphalt binder through compounding. It is a self-forming conductive carbon material specifically for electric arc furnaces, which has unique properties of conductivity, heat resistance, sintering and curing, and resistance to slag erosion. And you can use it in the production lines of high-temperature alloys such as silicon iron, calcium carbide, and manganese iron. It performs stably in the high-temperature smelting industry, which is highly suitable for the requirements of continuous high-temperature smelting production.

Advantages of carbon electrode paste

Generally, it takes the form of black paste or solid blocks, and its overall advantages are very prominent.

High-temperature thermal stability

It can operate continuously at temperatures of over 1000 degrees Celsius in a blast furnace, which does not soften or fall off easily.

Dense and uniform 结构

After sintering, it has high mechanical strength and strong resistance to impact and fracture.

Stable chemical properties

It does not react with slag or high-temperature smoke.

Excellent conductivity

It has stable electrical performance, which can continuously transmit large currents.

S可塑性强

It can fill the electrode cylinder by itself and form naturally.

Excellent overall conductive properties

It can stably transmit the current required for smelting and ensure the continuous progress of reactions inside the furnace.

Uses of carbon electrode paste

In the field of metallurgical smelting

Conductive heating

With excellent electrical conductivity, it is self-baked to form carbon electrodes under high temperature. So it continuously and stably conducts current, which providing heat sources for the smelting of materials inside the furnace, ensuring the stable and continuous progress.

In the calcium carbide industry

Electrode consumables for the furnace body

You can use it in the electric arc furnace of the calcium carbide production plant as the core self-baking electrode material. You can form it into an overall conductive column through high-temperature sintering and solidification. It can withstand the intense heat and strong smoke conditions of the calcium carbide furnace, which ensures the continuous and large-scale production of calcium carbide.

In the field of ferroalloy smelting

High-temperature electrode carriers

You can use it in various ferroalloy smelting furnaces such as silicon iron, manganese iron, chromium iron, etc. Because the formed electrode structure is dense and resistant to slag erosion, it can withstand the scouring of the high-temperature molten material inside the furnace. Thus reducing the electrode loss rate and improving the purity and production stability of the alloy products.

In the field of new energy chemical engineering

The auxiliary conductive function of high-temperature furnaces

You can use it in the raw material smelting process of industrial silicon and polycrystalline silicon. Due to its low ash, it can effectively reduce impurities introduced, which ensures the purity of silicon materials. And then it can meet the production standards for high-purity chemical raw materials.

In the field of large-scale industrial furnaces

Continuous production consumables

You can also use it in conjunction with various types of sealed furnaces, semi-sealed furnaces, and open-type electric arc furnaces. It reduces the frequency of equipment shutdown and maintenance, which effectively improves the overall operational efficiency of industrial smelting production lines. So it is suitable for different furnace types, including temperature fields, air pressure, and sintering rhythms.
