Elk koolstofatoom verbindt drie naburige koolstofatomen op een vlak tot een vlakke zeshoekige ringstructuur. Deze structuur wordt een \u03c0-bindingsstructuur genoemd en vormt de basis van de geleidbaarheid van grafiet.<\/p>\n<p>Ten tweede draagt ook de elektronische ordening van grafiet bij aan het geleidingsvermogen. In grafiet is elk koolstofatoom slechts door drie \u03c0-bindingen verbonden met de naburige koolstofatomen, en het overblijvende elektron beweegt vrij over het vlak. Deze vrij bewegende elektronen worden \u03c0 elektronenwolken genoemd, en ze kunnen vrij door de grafietlaag stromen. Vrij stromend en verantwoordelijk voor het overbrengen van elektrische stroom.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Graphite_is_used_in_making_electrodes_conducts_current\"><\/span>Grafiet wordt gebruikt om elektroden te maken die stroom geleiden.<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Wanneer er spanning van buitenaf wordt aangelegd, begint de elektronenwolk in de grafietlaag te bewegen. Door de vrije mobiliteit van elektronen kunnen ze snel door de structurele spleten en defecte punten in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Graphite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">grafiet<\/a>. Daarom heeft grafiet een extreem lage weerstand bij het maken van elektroden en kan het effectief stroom geleiden.<\/p>\n<p>Daarnaast heeft grafiet ook een goede thermische geleidbaarheid. Dit komt doordat de zwakke interactie tussen grafietlagen ervoor zorgt dat warmte snel kan worden overgedragen door trillende koolstofatomen.
